Tickets

Will tickets be sold on site?

No, tickets will not be sold on site. You must purchase tickets in advance on this page.

Where can I buy tickets?

Advanced purchase of timed tickets is required and can be purchased on this page (masshort.org/tulip-mania).

How much are tickets?

Total including fees, price includes 5 stems (pick your own while supplies last, or precut available throughout the event):
Adults $20 ($22.62 w fees)
Children 3-17 $10 ($11.96 w fees)
Members + Member Children $5 ($6.63 w fees)

MHS Members who wish to visit the Garden may do so for free as part of their membership benefit. You do not have to reserve admission if you are just visiting for display-only.

Can I change my date or time?

Tickets are nontransferable and nonrefundable. Please ensure you're able to attend your selected date and time before purchasing your tickets.

How many tickets can I purchase at once?

Each time slot has a limited number of tickets. You may purchase as many tickets that are available in your chosen slot. We are unable to offer group ticket discounts for this event.

Members: Individual Members can purchase 1 ticket at the Member rate; Dual Members may purchase 2 tickets at the Member rate; Supporter Members and above may purchase 4 tickets at the Member rate.

Additional tickets should be purchased at the non-member rate. If you wish to upgrade your membership to purchase more tickets, please contact membership@masshort.org during weekday office hours.

Do children under 2 need a ticket?

Children under 2 are free, but please include free "Kids 2 and under" tickets in your ticket reservation. Please note: stems are not included with free admission.

Planning Your Visit

How far is the tulip field from the entrance?

The Garden at Elm Bank is a 36-acre garden, featuring over 20 acres of cultivated garden areas. The pick-your-own tulip field is less than half a mile walk from the entrance. The display-only field is situated just inside the entrance to the Garden, where pre-cut stems will also be available (included with paid admission).

Where is the parking for this event?

There is free paved/dirt lot parking on site. All parking is within 150 yards of the entrance.

What happens if I show up early or late for my entry time?

We recommend you arrive 5-10 minutes before your designated time to ensure a stress-free experience. The 30-minute time slot listed on your ticket purchase is your entry window. Once you enter the event, you are welcome to stay as long as you please until the event closes for the day, which is one hour after the last entry time that day.

When is the best time to visit the Garden for Tulip Mania?

Tulip Mania begins Thursday, April 23. Peak bloom will start the weekend of April 25-26 and last for about 5 days, depending on the weather. Tulips are expected to bloom through May 3, creating a succession of blooms and colors throughout the festival. Closing date will be finalized based on flowering and availability.

What is the weather policy?

Tulip Mania is open rain or shine.

Are dogs allowed?

Registered service animals are permitted. Other dogs, including support animals, are not permitted for health and safety reasons.

Can I bring in food?

Yes, we have outdoor seating areas and grass lawns where you can enjoy a picnic or boxed lunch. We are a pack-in, pack-out facility.

How long will Tulip Mania last?

The official start date of Tulip Mania is Thursday, April 23! The pick-your-own field will be open while supplies last. We suggest you purchase early on if you wish to pick your own stems. Precut stems will be available throughout the event and are included with paid admission.

Tickets are currently on sale through Sunday, May 3. If we extend Tulip Mania, more tickets will be released, and we will announce it in our email newsletter and on our social media. Closing date will be finalized based on flowering and availability.

Are Tulip Mania and the Garden at Elm Bank wheelchair accessible?

Core garden areas are accessible by a paved road. The tulip field and some garden paths consist of grass or crushed stone. Restrooms and buildings include ramps and accessible restrooms.

How long can I stay at Tulip Mania?

You are welcome to stay in the Garden until we close for the day, which is 1 hour after the last entry for that date. Visits typically last 1-2 hours to explore the tulip display area, the pick-your-own field, and the many other garden areas.

What is the event's photography policy?

By entering the Garden at Elm Bank, you consent to the taking and publication of your photograph, video, and audio for MHS promotional purposes.

Membership

What is the MHS Member rate?

Display-only (no stems): MHS Members who wish to visit the Garden may do so for free as part of their membership benefit. You do not have to reserve admission if you are just visiting for display-only.

Tulip stems: MHS Members who wish to pick their own stems (while supplies last) or take home precut stems must reserve their discounted Tulip Mania admission ($5 + fees). 

How do I apply my MHS Membership discount?

To get your membership discount, follow these steps:

  • Select your date and time

  • Find the Promo Code box, type "TM" followed by your membership ID (Ex. TM123456) in the promo code box or use your one-time code to receive member-priced tickets.

    • You can find your ID number on your membership card. If you can't locate your ID number, please contact our membership department at membership@masshort.org.

  • Click "Apply"

  • Add the number of Member Adult and Member Youth tickets to your cart.

    • Individual Members get 1 Member Adult ticket

    • Dual Members get 2 Member Adult tickets

    • Supporter Members can purchase up to 4 Member Adult tickets

  • Complete your purchase

I forgot to apply my membership code. Can I get a refund?

Member tickets purchased without using a discount code cannot be refunded. Please ensure you follow the steps to apply your discount. If your code isn't working, please contact us at 617-933-4900 during business hours.

Do you accept Garden Passes during Tulip Mania?

No, we do not accept MHS-issued Garden Passes during Tulip Mania. You are welcome to use your Garden Passes as soon as the event is officially over.

Do you accept Card to Culture (EBT) during Tulip Mania?

Tulip Mania is classified as a special event and we do not accept EBT or WIC cards for discounted admission during Tulip Mania. Cardholders are welcome to use their EBT or WIC discounts (reduced admission to $5 for 2 adults) during regular Garden Admission periods.

Do you accept Reciprocal Admissions Program members during Tulip Mania?

Tulip Mania is classified as a special event and we do not accept AHS Garden Network admission during Tulip Mania.

Can I schedule a photo shoot during Tulip Mania?
