Keynote Speaker

Peter Hatch is currently an independent scholar living in Albemarle County, Virginia. He gardens, lectures, consults and writes about garden history. A celebrated author of four books on Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, he was responsible for the maintenance, interpretation and restoration of the 2,400-acre landscape at Monticello from 1977 to 2012. He initiated the Thomas Jefferson Center for Historic Plants, a unique nursery to preserve historic and Jefferson-related garden plants.

Jane S. Hirschi, for her work as Founding Director of CitySprouts developing outdoor classrooms and gardens in local school yards

Volante Farms, David Volante, Steven Volante and Teri Volante Boardman in recognition of the continued development of the farms, garden center and farm stand expansion
