Dear Friends,

Now more than ever, it is critical that we connect people to nature. We’ve had a great year and with your help 2018 will be even better! Here are some accomplishments of which we can all be proud:

Growing our Educational Programs:  Our classes and workshops continue to attract both new and seasoned gardeners. Popular topics included seed starting, garden design, and pollinator-friendly gardening. The Plantmobile (our science lab on wheels) hit the road dozens of times to visit schools and local communities. Touching the lives of more than 7,000 children and families, our goal is to help them understand our natural world and how to protect it. Your support makes this possible!

Giving to Those in Need:  Once again, volunteers and staff harvested over four thousand pounds of fresh produce from our Seed to Table garden, all of which was donated to a local food pantry.

Enhancing The Gardens at Elm Bank:  To better welcome our visitors, we installed a wheelchair ramp and new doors in the Hunnewell Building, rebuilt the Visitors Center entryway, and added lots more outdoor seating. In May, we cut the ribbon on a beautiful greenhouse - a teaching center that brings color to our gardens all year long.

Connecting with One Another:  Free events were held in the gardens throughout the season. New visitors and old friends enjoyed family activities, vegetable tastings, live music, garden tours, and the unveiling of a new US Post Office pollinator-friendly stamp! Even more events are planned for next year.

You make all of this possible … and we have so much more to do! The creation of a 20-year Master Plan is underway to guide Mass Hort's development of gardens, the Manor House, visitor amenities, and horticultural education for the future. Help us build our public garden’s value as a beautiful place to relax, learn, nurture our community, and appreciate our natural world.

Our success stems from your support. Please make your tax-deductible donation today!donatenow_new_small.jpg
